About the Bomber Wrestling Club (BWC)
BWC Allstars – (Age 5 through Grade 6)
This club level is designed to introduce student athletes to the sport of wrestling. This division is for a first, second or even third year wrestler regardless of age. Children will learn and continue to develop foundational skills of wrestling.
Practice will be Monday and Thursday 5:30p-6:30p at Kenston High School Wrestling Room. Children who wish to, may compete on Sundays in the OYWA league against other athletes their age and weight. Season will run from November 4th through roughly February 9th, and every child will receive a singlet, warm-up t-shirt, and shorts.
BWC Varsity – (Age 5 through Grade 6)
This division is for a third year or more wrestler who is ready to learn higher level techniques necessary for competition. Or for the more serious wrestler who wants more practice time and more elite training.
Note – if you are a second-year wrestler but wrestled Varsity last season, this is your group too.
Practice will be held Monday and Thursday from 6:30-8:15p, and Tuesday from 6:00-7:45p in the Kenston High School Wrestling Room. Kids will participate in a weekly Sunday OYWA league that will match the kids with the appropriate level of competition. This level includes league fees and select tournament fees. Season will run from November 4th through February 16th. There will be post season OAC tournaments and practices for those who wish to continue through end of March. Every child will receive a singlet, warm-up t-shirt, and shorts.
BWC Girls Division – (Age 5 through Grade 8)
The fastest growing women’s sport is America is wrestling, and there are many opportunities now at the collegiate level (i.e Baldwin Wallace, John Carroll, Case Western, and Cleveland State). Bomber Wrestling Club has always been inclusive of female participation but for the first time are offering a girls-only experience where girls will wrestle girls and can choose to practice, as well as compete in all girl tournaments. As always, girls can still signup for the Allstar or Varsity Division as well. This added experience is a steppingstone toward an all-girls team in the future at every level of Kenston Local Schools. It’s a perfect way to introduce your child to the sport of wrestling with her peers.
It will run Wednesdays 5:30-7:00p at the Kenston High School Wrestling Room November 6th through early February.
