Kenston Youth Football Equipment Handout – July 23rd

Below please find important information regarding equipment handout, non-contact conditioning, and full-contact practices.

Equipment Handout

Equipment handout will be held on Sunday, July 23rd at Auburn Community Park (17484 Munn Road) at the following times:

  • 5th/6th graders:  12:00 – 1:30
  • 3rd/4th graders:  1:30 – 3:00
  • 1st/2nd graders:  3:00 – 4:30

Players who do not pick up their equipment on July 23rd will need to arrive 45 minutes before conditioning/practice to receive it.

We need to provide the league with a hard copy of every player’s birth certificate.  Accordingly, you must provide us with a copy of your son’s birth certificate at equipment handout, even if you have provided it to us in a previous year.

Non-Contact Conditioning

Four days of non-contact conditioning will be held on Monday, July 24th – Thursday, July 27th at Auburn Community Park from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm for all grade levels.  Please plan on arriving by 5:45 pm at the latest, as we will start promptly at 6:00 pm.

Every player must wear his helmet with attached mouthguard, his assigned conditioning jersey with only a t-shirt underneath, shorts, and cleats.  Every player must also bring his own water bottle.

All players must complete four days of non-contact conditioning prior to participating in full-contact practice.  A conditioning make-up day will be held in the morning of Saturday, July 29th at Auburn Community Park for those who miss one of the scheduled conditioning days.  The time has yet to be determined.

Full-Contact Evaluation

A full-contact evaluation will be held in the morning of Saturday, July 29th at Auburn Community Park for all players who did not play tackle football for Kenston last year.  The time has yet to be determined.  We will be sending another email with information about this evaluation.

Team Assignments

There will be two 5th/6th grade teams (commonly known as “Varsity” or “A” teams), two 3rd/4th grade teams (commonly known as “JV” of “B” teams), and three 1st/2nd grade teams (commonly known as “Mighty Might” or “C” tams).

Players will be assigned to their respective teams on Sunday, July 30th.  This will be done through a draft to ensure that each team is equally balanced.  Players will be informed of their team assignments at practice on Monday, July 31st.

Full-Contact Practices

Monday, July 31st is the first day of full-contact practice for players who have completed four days of non-contact conditioning.  All practices will be held at Auburn Community Park and will be from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm until we need to start earlier due to the lack of sunlight.

Prior to school starting, the Varsity and JV teams will practice four days per week and the Mighty Might teams will practice three days per week.  During the first week of school and thereafter, the Varsity and JV teams will practice three days per week and the Mighty Might teams will practice two days per week.  The head coaches will determine the days on which their teams practice, although every team will be practicing on Thursdays due to pizza night.
