Have you ever thought about learning to ride horses?
It’s an amazing partnership and learning to ride enables you to enjoy a wide range of horse sports for a lifetime!
KCE is excited to begin a NEW partnership with Chagrin Valley Farms to offer a discounted rate for their one-hour Discovery Ride Session for students ages 6-18!
The first step to get started is to schedule a one-hour discovery ride session with one of our instructors, who will teach you the basics of being safe around horses, show you how to tack them up for a lesson, and start teaching you the basics of riding.
For children, this is an opportunity for us to assess a child’s ability to take lessons safely (motivation to ride, maturity, attentiveness, ability to follow instructions, etc.). It is NOT expected that beginner students of any age know anything prior to attending their first session. For riders with some experience, this session would be a low-pressure assessment of your current riding ability and background so that our instructors know how to schedule and place with you within our lesson program.
How does it work?
Once you register through KCE, you will receive an email with instructions to fill out our new rider questionnaire, which gives us basic information about a rider and their background experience with horses.
From there, the CVF scheduling coordinator will review your answers, and contact you with options for scheduling your discovery lesson (new rider) or evaluation lesson (more experienced rider).
After the initial lesson, you’ll have the opportunity to enroll in one of our regular monthly riding membership programs (generally, our students sign up to ride once, twice, or three times per week, depending upon their goals and schedule.
