CONGRATULATIONS!
2025-26 Kenston Travel Basketball Players
From the Kenston Youth Basketball Commissioner & Directors:
Thank you to all the boys and girls who tried out this year for Kenston Youth Travel Basketball. We are thrilled that we set a tryout record for the second straight year! On behalf of Coach Jakacki and Coach Hinkle, congratulations to those who have been invited to play. We are excited for the future of Kenston Bomber Basketball!
To those who were not invited, please do not let this end your love of basketball and participation in the sport. It is incredibly difficult at this age to select teams and impossible to see into the future. Making or not making an A or B team today has no relevance to playing middle school or high school basketball. 7th and 8th Grade will keep up to 15 players so there is always time to continue to work and improve. KCE has the best Rec Basketball program in the area. Keep playing. Court time is court time.
PLEASE NOTE that once again, we had to make cuts in almost every year, boys and girls. We cannot stress this point enough – by accepting the invitation to be a member of a 2025/2026 Kenston Youth Travel Basketball Team, you are making a commitment to attend practices and games for your team pursuant to the Kenston Travel Rules and Requirements. Players who do not attend the practices due to other commitments should NOT accept the invitation so that others, who were not invited due to our tryout numbers, can participate. This does not include illness, vacations, etc. but if your child plays multiple sports and cannot commit to the requirements of the Kenston Youth Travel Basketball Program, please let a child who did not make a team play. Despite my repeated warnings last year, we still had multiple players withdraw after accepting invitations which ultimately led us to being unable to fill our rosters. We are requesting that this not happen again. Please be advised that if your player withdraws due to too many conflicts/inability to satisfy the Team Requirements after uniforms are ordered, there will be no refunds of any fees. We have full respect for other sports and understand commitments to them, but given the numbers in our Program – it is our obligation to the Program to see that our requirements are met. Again, congratulations to the players invited and we look forward to another great year of travel basketball!
