Beginning Foil Fencing requires NO fencing experience!
With all equipment provided (mask, foil, jacket, chest protector and glove), students will learn:
- basic footwork
- distance keeping
- lunging
- hitting with the tip of the foil on your opponent’s target (the torso)
- defense with parry-riposte
- right of way rules
- fencing safety
- bouting
- sportsmanship
Fun and safety are emphasized.
Fencing improves hand-eye coordination, agility, dexterity, and stamina, as well as developing social skills and manners. All fencing equipment is provided.
Fencer should wear t-shirt and shorts or baggy pants and good athletic shoes. No crocs, flip flops, boots or sandals.
K-3rd REMINDER: For all after school KCE activities, all K-3rd parents MUST complete and turn in the Kenston School District Parental Request for Pick-up Form.
KMS BOMBER LANDING: All Kenston students in grades 4-7 enrolled in an after school KCE activity will attend KMS Bomber Landing, a short-term after school care program held in the KMS Cafeteria, until transportation is provided to their KCE activity held on the Kenston campus. No parent notes are required for grades 4-7.
