Dog Obedience: Beginner

An experienced dog trainer will assist you in teaching your dog to walk without pulling, to stay, to come when called, and to down when told. The dog will learn good manners when in public and around other dogs.
Dogs must be five months or older (younger dogs with vet approval). Bring your dog the first night, as well as proof of current vaccinations including rabies, Parvo etc.

  • Indicate the dog breed, age and weight on the registration form. Enrollment is limited.
  • Bring a 6-foot leash, training collar and soft dog treats. No Flex-leashes.
  • Dogs taking this class should be comfortable being around other dogs and have not demonstrated any behavioral concerns around people or other dogs.
  • Classes are not meant for dog aggressive dogs.

Dog Obedience: Beginner 2

Development of proficiency with heeling, down and sit stay, and increasing dog’s reliable response to commands. Developing reliable attention (focus) for those interested in future competition or therapy work.

Handlers and dogs must have completed a basic dog obedience class and demonstrate working knowledge of heeling, down and sit stay with handlers close by. In addition, this class will prepare handlers for possible competition. Dogs will be evaluated during the first class.

  • Bring a 6-foot leash, training collar and soft dog treats. No Flex-leashes.
  • Dogs taking this class should be comfortable being around other dogs and have not demonstrated any behavioral concerns around people or other dogs.
  • Classes are not meant for dog aggressive dogs.
  • Trainer reserves the right to make adjustments as necessary to class enrollment.

Advanced/Rally Obedience

Previous successful completion of Dog Obedience: Rally Beginner and/or Instructor approval is required.

This class is designed for competitive handlers and dogs. Dogs must have proficiency in heeling, sit stay, down stay, and recall commands. Class will continue obedience development toward active competition in Rally, Obedience, and other performance venues. Students will learn the AKC Rally signs while perfecting their obedience skills. This class will have students of various skill levels with some students preparing to begin competitive obedience. Dogs will be evaluated first night.

Rally 2

Previous successful completion of Dog Obedience: Rally Beginner and/or Instructor approval is required.

Dogs must have proficiency in heeling, sit stay, down stay, and recall commands.
Experienced trainer and AKC Rally judge will teach the rules and course signs for the Rally 2 Class. Handlers must be prepared to move on to more advanced signs, run courses and ring preparation. Students will be prepared for future competition. Dogs will be evaluated first night.
